• Insert a high-efficiency HEPA vacuum hose as far into the duct opening as possible to extract heavy dust mounds settled right behind the register boot.

Evaporator Coil Hazards

• The indoor AC evaporator coil is constantly wet during operation. If dust bypasses your air filter, it cakes onto the wet coil fins, rotting over time and producing sour, biological odors.

Inspect the Plenum and Filter.

• Swap your standard dust filter out for an upgraded MERV 11 or MERV 13 pleated filter to actively trap microscopic spores before they cycle back onto your cold coils.
